Hauntingly evocative a cappella performance of this Corsican setting of the Stabat Mater, dating to the Renaissance. Late at night, with lights off, it is absolutely chilling.

The ethereal atmosphere the song creates in this space is truly amazing. I love so much, very grateful that you popped up in my TikTok. Keep going
A setting of the Stabat Mater text from Nebbiu, Corsica. This style of hymn singing from southern Corsica is sparsely ornamented, in contrast to the more typical elaborate ornamentation in most Corsican sacred and secular music.
Recorded live in the refectory at Mont Saint-Michel.

i like this version better than the original. The middle part has that aggression that makes the excellent balance with the beginning and ending of the song. owlobo
